Re: new to KR1-S

My opinion for what it's worth (nothing)

Keep your Aprilia.

The KR is nice, but it is an older design chassis, and without being kicked off the forum they have "straightforward engineering"

Park them beside each other and be amazed at the difference in build and design.

Re: Bodgers

Another one, RGV this time Fuel pipe used as a gear shift rubber. This one I think I like, much better than the usual insulating tape and alot better than nothing. http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af139/yamfan/DSC00726_zpsmmv9eyij.jpg Not so cool, http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af139/yamfan/...

Re: Photo upload test

No panic on the photos,

I don't think I have ever seen one in the metal, - anyone else seen one before?

When I win the euromillions, I shall have a home in japan - just for old bike stuff

Re: Bodgers

I seen some creative spannering in my time too, Maybe we should write a book

Fork related, on my wife's Zeal (we got it free) The dust seals were removed and a second set of oil seals put in their place (over the leaking set). I don't know if I was impressed or horrified

Re: New project

My brother in law had a rambler, it was green if I remember rightly.

Nice bike, I think the rear suspension was very stiff on his one.

Very rare bikes over here.

Re: Pandora's box - Kr1s

My take on the fairing brackets, rough and ready but better than nothing. http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af139/yamfan/DSC00659_zpseiiwpgom.jpg Had a small issue with the exhausts, when fitted at the barrels and at the rear footpegs, the center mounts were about 1 cm too high. On looking at the ...

Re: Pandora's box - Kr1s

Sounds very interesting Gerrit, I wonder do Mitaka do replacements? I reckon most people on here would have a natural interest in any info you might have handy on these big motors. I got the side fairing brackets made today, Some dimensions from this post. http://www.kr-1s.co.uk/forum/viewtopi...

Re: Pandora's box - Kr1s

Was great to find the simple cause, my mind went straight to $$$$$ That sounds like some motor Gerrit, 84cm pistons - wow - Bet it takes some cranking over  Have to say the bike is designed to be as simple and easy to work on as possible - it could never be described as over engineered  ...
