Nicely done. Interesting pipes too.

Yet another owner who's lost the middle fairing panels though.

Re: Misfire in rain

Yeah, I've not had any wet-weather running problems on my KR at all, lucky I guess. My TDR and 3MA were both prone to it though, as was my DT125R.

Good luck. Looking forward to pics from the rally. 8)

Re: Misfire in rain

That zap you got is a big clue ! Does it cut out altogether or just run on one when it's misbehaving ? In the RC car world, a popular mod is to encase vulnerable electrical components in a rubber balloon, and cable-tie the opening to prevent moisture getting in. Pretty sure you'll be able to f...

Re: Plans for 2018 ?

It's still 2017 and it's running already ! Totally neglected for 6 years and all it took was a splash of fresh fuel and less than a dozen kicks. Ignore the two fuel leaks for now...

Plans for 2018 ?

On Christmas Eve I had a shuffle round of the bikes in the garage, so I could move my red/black KR to the front. It's not run in 6 years and has never been on the road (legally) since I bought it. Time to put that right. It should fire up with a bit of effort, then I need to sort the front brakes an...

How easy is it to get parts for these?would I have to get parts from Japan?
Usually, yeah. There's a couple of breakers in Australia who sometimes have stuff too.

Re: photobucket photos

I don't have a solution Doug, but you (and this forum) are far from being the only ones affected. Some people are switching to Imgur but that doesn't fix your existing broken posts. :x

Yeah, I've seen it, not a bad price these days. A few years ago I'd have had it but I've got too much stuff already.

Re: Team Green

How come the KR is still for sale at Jems, it looks really nice. Is it because the KR is rarer so people don't remember them? It's because you didn't buy it ! Honestly, I don't know. My mate still hasn't sold his either. Loads of people say they want one, but when it comes down to it they don't sel...

KR250A gaskets

Gaskets should be available for the old tandem-twin by the time you read this. I've been helping Dan / maccas / The Gasket Guru and he's kindly given me the first production set. No head gaskets obviously, but he can do base (which fit the KR250S too), clutch cover, left and right crankcas...

Re: Misfire in rain

Never had that problem with mine, but then it hardly ever rains here... Plug caps and leads would have been my first attempt at a fix too. Both CDI units are pretty exposed, check the connections. Might be worth making some sort of temporary shield from cardboard next time you ride in the rain...

Well guys I popped into jems today. I saw the V5 for the KR it is 1990. In answer to stroker boys point I dont think its a respray as the white is a lovely cream patina. The speedo is kms.
They never did a MPH speedo.

Did you get a tattoo and a haircut while you were there ?
