Re: pick up exciter coil

To test when you expect to get a reading up to 100 ohms you want to set the meter to 200. Check the meter, wires apart should have no reading, wires together should display close to 0, just resistance through the leads. Often a good way to check is set the meter too high, attach the leads to the loa...

Re: pick up exciter coil

Now then Nosher. As said, sounds like your reg/rect has failed and blown the bulbs and poss the CDI. First always run the KR with a good charged battery, a flat/damaged battery can allow the reg to put out too high a voltage. Get a good reg'rec unit on it, also run a single earth wire from engine to...

Re: KR1S for sale

Cheers Steve, yep sadly it has to go but hopefully it'll find a good home. Donny was going well but it had base gasket trouble again, I got that sorted in the end and rebuilt it, had the forks reworked so took it to Cadwell for an MSV trackday and it flew round really well all day (made putting it u...

Re: PWK ENGINE IDLE

The ones I got are slightly different but I couldn't find the advert anymore, I had to cut little grooves in the edges so you can see from above as you adjust them how far you've gone.. You're right it's definitely something they could do but I was so glad to find some I wasn't complaining!

Re: PWK ENGINE IDLE

Ah you've missed what they are Nosh, these are Pilot air screws but with a large knurled head that stick out of the carbs. I've got them on mine. You can adjust them from above with fingertips of long nose pliers.

Re: PWK ENGINE IDLE

If you get a pair of these it makes life easier! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAB-PRODUCTS-KEIHIN-PWK-CARB-AIR-MIXTURE-ADJUSTMENT-SCREW-GOLD-/232323344172?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 Pricey just to fiddle with the mixture but I got a pair and they've helped when I've been messing around setting up. No...

Re: PWK ENGINE IDLE

Yep 1 and 1S very similar and just as finicky to set up. Lower you put the clip on the needle the richer the mixture but I've found middle or 2nd from the top works best. Pilot air screw, I've heard some run it screwed in and still get a decent tickover! I put #45 pilot jets in mine and it runs a lo...

Re: PWK ENGINE IDLE

It seems KR1S carbs run very weak on standard settings, especially low RPM. Set the needle clip middle to start with, pilot air screw 1/4 turn out if running standard pilots. Check your fuel height as the manual says, using a pipe from the drain outlet, don't just rely on setting the float height. T...

Re: I'm having some stainless air filter supports made..

Just an update, I got orders for 9 of the supports so asked the friend doing them to go ahead. They're taking longer than I'd hoped to get made but I've been promised they will be done as soon as possible, they are being water jet cut and the machine he needs to use is flat out working and he hasn't...

I'm having some stainless air filter supports made..

As the title says! I'm having the KR1 air filter frame support (original part number 13183-1210) remade in stainless to replace the flimsy/cracked original plastic one, minimum order is 10, so far 3 are spoken for. If anyone would like one let me know. Cost will work out £35 each to UK inc post, or ...

Re: Endurance Legends Donington

I'm going, booked for the trackday sessions with the KR1 and TZR but I reckon I'll spend more time spectating, some big teams and interesting people going and I reckon it's going to be a good do! Hopefully I'll get along to the stand and say hello.

KR1S throttle cable, just upper needed

If anyone has any spare bits of throttle cable (or a complete one?) I need the upper section if possible.

Thanks.
