Re: Start of the new Kr1s forum

Good news indeed :), don't use, and have no interest in facebook, so forums for me, all the way. I did post some new pics the other day from my PB account after a few hours the 'water mark' appeared but doesn't really detract from the image that much, and doesn't bother me, especially as I didn't ca...

Re: My next one, maybe

The clingfilm is how it arrived in the box, (light protection from scratches) also not sure it will pass an MOT, dip is a bit poor, but high is quite a strong beam, and fairly focussed. Always queeze the coolant pipes when filling so hopefully no airlocks,- been ok so far on the few heat cycles I've...

Re: My next one, maybe

Done a few more bits to the bike now, swapped the shock and fitted a nice R6 one, not fitting an airbox, so no need to worry about modifying that either. Also after a bit of a faff, finally got it running. Now to see if photobucket is working again...... http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa213/lc-r...

Re: Dumb indicator question

Ahh thanks Bernie, bought another clock loom to chop about, so they are probably stuffed in the headlight now :) That's good in a way, as the indicators are now on the headlight ears, nice and close.

Dumb indicator question

Hi, as I am leaving the fairing off, and fitted aftermarket indicators, where do they plug into the original loom. As the leads are only short on the fairing indicators, assumed its close to that area?? But cant see any connectors there

Re: How to measure ignition coil and pick-up

As above really, both coils are just a load of wire, I did have a couple of spares to compare with, but just found trial and error the best option. My test values were 'around' what the manual stated.(some I thought out of spec worked fine??) I found one stator coil u/s, one pick-up u/s, and slightl...

Re: not rev'ing past7500

I had a similar problem, and started swapping all the ignition parts around, I'm 'sure' the problem was the pick up coil in the end, all my resistance readings were in spec for the alternator and pick up etc. I had fitted a new Dyna coil so dismissed that. Also found a few 'suspect' connections in t...

Re: KR1S race bike-work to finish!

Do you need to go that far? Everything just unplugs from the loom, i think that's how i'd do it anyway, and shrinkwrap the connectors if worried about water ingress. But they're not that well protected in the first place. How much was a crank rebuild, as BDK are reasonably close to me, what sort of ...

Re: Plated Barrels

Interesting, I was led to believe there are only two places in the UK that does plating, think I'd be in touch with Sean (Tuning works) and see what he thinks, as he has a good rep and provides a plating service for members, although this is outsourced.

Re: Shrinking a 300 to a 250

I must admit, like yourself, have a few strokers in the shed, and these engines are really nice to work on, nearly as simple as an Rd engine.

Why aren't you using the 300 kit, are they a bit of a 'hand grenade' or is it due to racing rules??
