Re: not rev'ing past7500

I've never had an even remotly decent battery in my bike. There is always one in, just to swallow the excess of current made by the charging system. My battery is so dead the bike won't start with the lights on as they (lights and battery together) drain too much power from the ignition while kickin...

Re: not rev'ing past7500

a strobe is used to check the timing of the ignition. if the strobe flashes, the plug emits a spark, so if you strap the strobe on the bike and it still flashes at 7.500 rpm, you know at least that your ignition is still working. KIPS not opening can never be a reason why the engine wouldn't rev pas...

Re: not rev'ing past7500

you seem to atract electric gremlins, Mouser.

I would put a strobe on it ang go riding, you'll immediatly see if your ignition cut's out or not.

Re: Trackday preparation

front 2.3 bar, rear 2.2 bar, that's what I always use, with any bike, track or street (but I only ride for fun, so my street-pace isn't much slower).

Re: Shrinking a 300 to a 250

I'd be interested in the 300 kit for racing A KR is already oversquare. going even bigger on the bore means you will have even less time-area to fill the cylinder. in cc, the increase of the bore is squared (Pi*D^2) ; but on your port-real-esate-side, the bore increase is only single (Pi*D) -> the ...

Re: Shrinking a 300 to a 250

if you do not change the KIPS links and control wheels, you should only use 2 F3 KIPS valves. if you want to use 4, they should turn in opposite directions in each cylinder.

Schoolboy error on my behalf I didnt see the belly pan. The front pipes look different to mine, but it’s probably the angle of the camera.
nothing to do with the camera, first time I've seen these pipes.

a set of aftermarket pipes on either is always nice to have anyway..
only for the sound or weight, as the originals are VERY good and it's not easy to outperfrom them.

Re: Fork Spring Length?

checked my manual : KR1 springs are 450, service limit is 442. the inner legs are interchangeable, so that might be a possibility. Then in the KR1S manual I have, indeed it says 468mm, but someone drew a line through that and wrote 438 next to it. and as service limit he wrote 429mm ?? he also chang...
