Couch potatoes and Gamers

Post by KR-1R » Thu Sep 27, 2018 12:57 am

A few years on from those who tried to CAD model the KR-1

There didn't seem to be any posts on this forum, but this looks like some cheap thills for less than £20

Although this game (RIDE 2) isn't rated very highly, there are a number of hacks to correct physics and livery and hacking models.
RIDE3 is out later in this year 30/11/2018 - Ride3 bikes list

the thrill of owning a Zeus Blue...

the downstream could be to extract the model - or obtain laserscan (coming 8) ) and develop kitsets to 3D print

You Too can race on the salt flats and not get a suntan... Can MJ beat his own record ?

I had a motorcycle sim (MotoGP2001?) which I tried a couple of times riding Jurgen v.d. Goorbergh's KR3, but I didn't persevere with it. Should still have the CD somewhere though.
The only sims I currently have installed on my desktop are two flight sims (IL2 Sturmovik 1946 and Il2 Cliffs of Dover) and a sub sim (Silent Hunter 4) but I haven't run any of them for a long time.
"Mine is a long and sad tale", said the mouse.
"Indeed it is", said Alice, looking at the mouse's tail.

Gerrit, I've got to agree with you on the Il-2 games, they're one of the best flight sims around. Got a few on my pc but haven't played them for some time.

As for bike games, I've got 3 PS-2 games; Motogp, Crescent Suzuki Racing, and Riding Spirits. I bought the Riding Spirits game as you can ride on a KR250 Tandem Twin, which I had in real life at the time!

Have also got a pc cd-rom game called Team Suzuki, in which you can be Schwantz on an RGV500. It dates from 1995 and is VERY basic. Graphics have come on a bit since then!!!
Stop annoying me, I'm running out of space to hide the bodies!

I forgot to mention I also have "Distant Guns" and "Jutland" by Storm Eagle Studios but as with the others I haven't played them for a long time.

I have been eying one up but it is in bits.

I also have a track and field which is a bit newer than these but is a real laugh when friends come round.

No MAME boards in mine, all dedicated originals.

You'd think a 40 year old game would be easy but they are still really challenging.

Don't remember that Sega game but looks interesting.

Thats a great collection Andrew, would we all love those at home?!

On a similar topic and moving forward into home gaming, I used to visit a company called RARE software , if you dont remember the name back in the day, you may well remember Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Chuckie Egg, Donkey Kong etc etc etc for the likes of the ZX Sprectrum etc(still got mine in the loft, sadly not worth a lot as it seems everyone else has kept theirs too!

They are owned by Microsoft now, doing lots of stuff for the "live " game products(of which i know nowt about), everything was about 20 years younger than me but it was good to see them playing Mario Cart on the Super Nintendo when I walked in.

I wasnt sure if I should be taking pics as there was a lot of security from the front gates all the way in but the building had a lot of cool gaming memrobilla all around the place, as you can imagine, I took a few sneaky pics as and when..

Cool place, cool building...nice place to work eh...
