Problem with front wheel spindle.

Post by nikfubar »

Hi
Got a bit of a problem with front wheel assembly, firstly I have assembled it as shown in the exploded view & I have trouble stopping the speedo drive from spinning round as the lugs on the fork are worn.
Also when it's all done up tight it feels like the wheel is dragging slightly, maybe on speedo drive body (can the speedo body's wear?)
Also if I undo the pinch bolts on both sides the whole wheel assembly can move left & right by about 1mm between the fork legs as if the whole assembly is too narrow, which made me wonder if the speedo drive had worn.

Anyone experienced similar problems, obviously it's not a problem to centre the wheel in the forks & tighten the pinch bolts but I don't want the wheel dragging.

Cheers
