Frame decals - E1 by headstock

Post by kiwisteve74 »

Hi guys, I just received my frame and swing arm back from the painters, I see on eBay individual listings for warning decals for swing arm etc, does anybody out there sell full kits to save me making multiple purchases on eBay. Also I’ve noticed that you guys in the UK have E1 square stickers near the headstock, what are these all about? Are they a uk standard or do the Japanese’s domestic bikes have them too? What exactly are they trying to say with these?

Hi Steve,

I saw you post ages ago, and thought of it when I found this looking for something else :P

Copied from another forum.

The E code is a stamp on components that indicate they can be legally be fitted into a certain European country.

Here's a list:

Here's a better list:
e1- Germany
e2- France
e3- Italy
e4- the Netherlands
e5-Sweden
e6- Belgium
e9- Spain
e11- Britain
e12- Austria
e13- Luxembourg
e17- Finland
e18- Denmark
e21- Portugal
e23- Greece
I used to be undecided, but now I am not so sure.
