swingarm bearing replacement

Post by Luders »

I need to replace my swingarm bearings. Can anyone suggest a supplier and know the exact sizes?

I had the needle bearings from the dealer (Cradley Kawasaki) which were about £7 each but that was a few years back.
I think they are a weird size but stand to be corrected

I'm going past today so could get you a price 8-[

Are we talking when you say the sleeve, the tube that fits between the needle bearings ?
Or the little end caps that fit between frame and swinger ?

Priced up the bearings and seals from simplybearings.co.uk worked out at £38 delivered. They didn't have the inner rings though. Bearing sizes are 24x18x16 for the smaller one, and 27x20x26 for the larger ones.
Codes for the equivalent bearings and seals are
HK18162RS 1 of .This bearing has inbuilt oils seals, may help as this was in the worst condition. oil seals are R21 SC 2of.
YT2025 2of This is a full compliment bearing, it's all rollers and no cage. seals are R23 TC 4of, They don't have the metal flange though. possibly better with an original, if you can get 'em.

Quick bit of advice linked to above on the KR1S is there any way to grease the needle roller bearing , eg grease point , or is it a strip and grease?

Thanks in advance
