For those planning to race a production 250 Kawasaki or other make give some thought to the F250 series run with Derby Phoenix. This has established itself as the home of 250 racing and next year is its tenth season.

Any advice from tuning through to what is involved in racing give me a shout.

I am expecting 4 or 5 KRs next season so you will not be alone :D

For more info and see what is happening take a peek here http://www.rgv250.co.uk/forums/index.ph ... ntry354117 the RGV website hosts the F250 forum

That would be brill the more KR's the better. I expect quite a few will only be doing the odd round so I wouldn't worry.

He says he will just be doing trackdays but I am hoping to turn him :D

I know you are doing Bemsee with your daughter but you should pop along to a DP meet some time. Either to take part or just watch the ring-a-dings

Will try to get along to a meeting next year on our 400's (can I say that on here) 8-[ Emma's doing realy well in her rookie year, currently 2nd place rookie & 15th overall, it's all down to Brands on the 2-3rd October to see if she can hold onto it :) she seemed to finaly "click" at Cadwell we made a 5mm adjustment to the rear ride height & she took 4 seconds a lap off her best time! you will have to look further down the list for me  but i'm hoping to get a few points now I have the new bike

So far I have 18 that have said they will be doing the F250 or might do the odd round in 2011. If we can get 10 ring-a-dings regularly that will be excelllent.

What are the typical race entry fees Mark?

In 2010 with Derby Phoenix it was £120 per day (the club don't advertise one day entries but they will take them). For that on Saturday you get practice and two races. A second class - which would be the 175 - 675 Allcomers - is £30 and for that you get a 15 minute qualifying session plus a race. So for £150 you get 5 sessions on track.

Race distance is usually about 20 miles. Number of laps depends on the circuit but at Cadwell it is usually 8 laps - which believe me is plenty.

Sunday we have been getting three races and no practice. If you do Sunday only, if there are only a few riders, they have been put out with the 675 qualifying to get their practice.

Most clubs do an F400 NG, Wirral etc (apart from Thundersport though you can run in one of their other classes not sure which one though) but only DP attract a significant number of 250's, it being the home of F250. As such you get to race for two trophies - F250 and F400 as we all run in the same race - it is win win :)

Thanks Mark, I should at least be about for the odd race meet, but will look at possibly doing a few more.

I have my brother in law to consider (who races a 600), so need to see what he wants to do next year.
