Footpeg rubber conundrum...

Hoping a KR expert maybe able to shed some light on a weird problem I have trying to replace the damaged right hand side footpeg rubber on my JDM KR250.

My local Kawasaki dealer had a microfiche sent to them and confirmed the part can still be bought from Japan so I went ahead and ordered it. When it arrived it didn't match the rubber on the bike - very similar style but slightly smaller and and the fastenings don't line up so the new one can't be fitted.

I checked the part number against the scans on the KR website and they match up so it's the right part. What's more, that also ruled out my theory that perhaps the Jap market models were subtly different, because the scans on the KR site are japanese...

Pics below- does anyone know something that I don't? Appreciate any advice!

Apologies all, it appears I didn't look close enough at the parts scan on the KR250.org site as it clearly shows there are two different footrests and footrest rubbers. It appears I'm after the same part number with an 'A' on the end....

I wonder why they changed them in such a short model life?

Had to replace a damaged footrest rubber on my KR a few years ago as the kickstart had caught it and split it. Ordered part no. 34028-1118 which was actually for a Gpz600. Fitted my bike fine.

34028-1060 is the part for the rear footrests : "STEP, RR, RUBBER". You want 34028-1118 for the front (FR). :D

As Gary says, GPz footpegs are one of the few KR parts shared with other 1980's Kawasaki's.

Oh dear, what an idiot I am  Yes now that I look properly it's obvious the Kawasaki parts man has ordered me the rear rubber.

Thanks very much for clearing that up for me, much appreciated.
