I get a lot of KR owners asking where they can buy pistons/rings. I don't have an answer for them.

You can't get the genuine ones any more, though you may be lucky and find some dusty ones on a shelf somewhere.

I've not seen anyone doing aftermarket ones yet. I did buy some rings from someone in Japan who'd had some made but I don't know if he ever went any further with that. I've not actually tested them yet.

There's been talk about alternatives (eg. HERE) but no-one's actually confirmed anything.

Yamaha RD350LC,
Suzuki GSX-R750RK & RB50 Gag.

Hi there Jarno, I think it wouldn't hurt to learn what Wiseco wants to make a batch of pistons. However I think the cost will be too high for the minimum amount of pistons. If I remember correctly, some guys from the TZR forum had a batch made and I think the price was too high for 20 pieces, especially taking into consideration that the manufacturer had already had the piston dimensions and had manufactured some in the past. Maybe some other people know better. All in all, it would be nice to know there is an option. (taking into account that cylinders are cast iron sleeved, I am not sure a one sized piston batch would solve many problems)

Cheers, Fanis

I met a Wossner rep and he said they can make pistons anyway we want.

any manufacturer can do that. the problem is the big price tag as we can never get enough for a "big order"
