need a valve? for the radiator overflow tube 11012-1409

Post by pepsi »

In the parts drawing for the cooling system there is a inline device installed in the radiator overflow tube ,part number 11012-1409, I don't have one, what is it? and do I need one. Some kind of check valve?

The valve thingy (technical term) is incorporated into the top of the thick tube that fits on top of the plastic overflow bottle. The picture in the parts diagram makes it look like it is halfway along the thin tube, but that section of thin tube is actually inside the thick pipe on top of the bottle.
Hope that makes sense?
I have tried attaching a picture from the service manual, bit grainy.
Don't know what happens if you don't have one?

Just checked mine, it's not a valve, just a cap for the bottle through which the thin pipe carries on through into the bottle.
