My (Nearly) new motor

Post by ScottaKR »

Thanks to Bill (The Kid) for finding this motor for me. It had apparently been sitting in the wreckers for years (all oiled and sealled up) , but the guy knew nothing about it. Ended up getting it for $150, including carbs. :D
You can't imagine my surprise when I started to pull it down for an inspection, only to see what looks like a barely run-in motor!!  From what I can see so far, it looks like the rebuild included the bottom-end. They had even machined the combustion chambers and done some minor porting. 8)

notice the pattern in the carbon caused by the flow through the ports? And those nice shinny cranks!

not sure if you can really see the machineing done to the chambers...

Think I just may gasket match the barrels, give it a coat of paint, and put it staight in as is.
