KR250A Battery?

Post by Bogan » Wed Jul 28, 2010 5:48 am

Everything I ever found only lists batteries for KR1 onwards, is the battery in the KR250A the same? Same size? I can use a YB4L-B? I know they don't need a battery but I'm sure it would come in handy for something even if it's just filling up space under the seat :).

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Yes, the battery is the same fitment as in the KR1. Sure, you can start and have the bike run without a battery, but it's not something I'd ever consider doing as a permanent thing on a road goind bike.

Proper battery for the KR250A is a YB4L-A - same size and rating as a YB4L-B but the vent pipe is on the other end. Less common fitment, so harder to find on the shelf and sometimes more expensive.

I replaced my old battery with a GS CB4L-A last year and it works just fine. Bit of a tight fit, but everything goes where it should! :D
Stop annoying me, I'm running out of space to hide the bodies!
