Sorry, couldn't tell you when they changed it exactly, but it seems to have been about when they released the S model from what I can work out.pwatkins wrote:Can you define early 1985? What is Late year with side mount [-o<
Tim may be able to shed some more light on this perhaps.

Not sure if Oz mirrors are different to the Jap market KR that I've got, but mine are the rectangular bar mounted mirrors, as on the brochure in your pics. I always thought the fairing mounted ones were particular to the S model.

As said above, original 1984 A1 model had rectangular bar-mounted stalk-type mirrors (see pic below). 1985 A2 was the same spec, though the Aussie/Kiwi market ones had fairing-mounted mirrors (mounted through the sidepods). The 'S' came out in 1986 and had the fairing-mounted ones too.pwatkins wrote:Hello TIM?
From Scott "Tim may be able to shed some more light on this perhaps". Eh?
Never seen one with bar-mounted round mirrors (as per one of your pics) so I'm guessing they're aftermarket jobs.
Bear in mind that different domestic markets change things to suit their own regulations, eg. the longer rear mudguard and stalk-mounted winkers on the Aussie models. The brochure pic below shows an Aussie-market A2 (not 'S' despite the paintjob) with fairing-mount mirrors and stalk winkers.

Yes, that's me. Supposed to be a KR guru but I don't know much really and I've been neglecting my duties recently. About time I sold all my other toys and concentrated on my true love...pwatkins wrote:Thank you Strokerboy who I will guess is TIM?

You could at least keep things in the Kawa family..... You should be truely ashamed of yourself for buying a Suzuki.StrokerBoy wrote:Yes, that's me. On a more serious note, if it werent for you, many of us may not have been able to find parts or info, or even have found this site (I still blame you for that last one, and hence my KR1 collection by the way ).
So despite your objections, your stuck with the title of KR Guru. =D>

Glad you blame me for your garage-full of unreliable nonsense Scott, there's a few people over here who think the same.ScottaKR wrote:if it werent for you, many of us may not have been able to find parts or info, or even have found this site (I still blame you for that last one, and hence my KR1 collection by the way ). When I was in Japan they called me "English KR Ambassador" by the way. Please show appropriate respect when addressing me...
