Replacement Key

Post by chefsolid »

Hi Guys,

I'm just about to start on a restoration of my KR250-S but I've lost the bloody key! It's been 10+ years since I last rode it and now I've come to get working I can't find the thing.

Does anyone know what my options are? i.e. replacement barrel or could I get a replacement key cut.

Thanks

Chris

You should be able to get a replacement key cut for it. Have a chat to a good locksmith and he should be able to sort you out.

I think the shape of the key is going to be an issue but you are right I'll start with a locksmith and work from there.

Genuine Kawasaki key blanks are still available here in Australia for about $15. Should still be available worldwide.

Bit late on this one but been looking to get a spare key cut and came across this site.

http://www.keytrader.co.uk/Vehicle-Keys ... ducts.html

No connection to this company, no guarantee offered or implied etc etc...............

Always usefull to know where to get a cheap blank from. Cost £2.30 with the VAT and free postage in UK  . My 1990 KR-1S is a KW8 blank don't know if all KR's are all the same. Now just need to go to the local key cutters...
