KR water pump specs

Post by smeg »

I'm building a KR250 race bike, the bike will rev to around 12,000 rpm. The water pump is driven off the end of one of the crank shafts and I would like to know if anyone would know if the water pump will still work and those RPM's or will it just caviate in which case I will have to use and external water pump

if you want to put in an electric pump :

this one from Bosch is great :

but don't buy a new one ! these pumps are found in lot's of cars, specialy German. I always get them at the wrackyard when I need one.

they never leak, 'cause the propelor is driven magneticly, so there is not a shaft going through the housing, and allthough it doesn't seem that way, you can get them open and change the brushes.

at the moment I have one in my ZXR400/600. I ditched the original waterpump and put in one of these, and works great.
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !
