KR1 Frame Paint Colour?

Post by Cexley »

Restoring my KR1 and just have a few light scratches on frame which reveal a black undercoat. Does anyone know a good match for the original silver colour used on the frame?

I just want to touch up the odd mark here & there without having to do a full strip down.

its specified on most Kawasaki part sheets as SILVER No.25

CE - SILVER #25

what that translates into other paint speak is your guess

Hi,

I recently had my frame resprayed. I gave the shop the Kawasaki paint number but in the end I think they just colour matched to the original.

Hi, if you are getting your frame done by a powder coater/painter i recommend you ask for RAL 9006 white aluminium.

I use this on my bikes when i need a colour close to the orignal silver.

Frame paint

Post by smithyrc30 »

There are a couple of guys who sell small bottles of touch in paint on the fleece.

I bought this one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kawasaki-ZX6R-ZX7 ... 518c097a61

Seems to be a good match for the paint on my frame. It is ok for nicks and small marks, but once you know they are there....

This guy also sells stuff:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KAWASAKI-TOUCH-UP ... 4386741203

More expensive, not sure about the quality, never tried it.

Good luck.
