Oil Advice

Post by 500bernie »

I am thinking of moving from Motul 800 to Motul 710,
Does anyone use 710 at the moment?
Also, should I be able to wait until the tank is nearly empty and just add the 710 or will I need to drain and flush?
Cheers
Bernie :)

Bernie , the key thing here is engine speed and forward motion. As you have niether , then bite the bulet and select the best2T to suit your bike.

Strictly speaking Bernie, the motul 800 factory line oil is for pre mix race engines.

I would run what you have down low and stick in the 710. Slightly mixing the two types won't make a difference.

Thanks guys,
I am hoping the 710 will burn better at lower temps, avoiding oiling up

I use the rock fully synthetic also the castrol power one when i can get it for the right price i find the rock burns the cleanest out of the two an the price is better on the rock if you purchase it in 4 litre container. The premix oil is thicker than injector stuff i would say the flow rate through the pump would be slower due to the thickness i would stick to the injector lube if it was me.
