Post by Vin »

Hi Guy's,

Can anyone tell me from richer to leaner what N99, JJH and N68X needles are please?

I've seen a few charts but it has left me more confused #-o

I gave up on the JJH Vin on the LC and went to N68A

Ran better but like you say confusing as feck #-o

Trial and error by me but I would love someone to get all the different ones measured and compared [-o<

Question to me is why does everyone say use JJH ???

Im pretty sure the N68's are richer in overall than the 99's,i think the 68 denote's the diameter so it will be narrower so giving a richer mixture.
i think the tapers the same.
I maybe wrong of course,
I've got both so will have a look and see for sure.
Is it for a KR1 or are they fitted to an LC or such?
If they are then it's really a case of just trying different setting's to suit.
Strange though,i fitted them to my 350LC ,160RD main,N99 on the 4th airscrew 3/4 out and it runs great.

I'm glad it's not just me then

I will see if I can get them measured at work and reply with my findings!

Tuned LC with Ramairs

152.5 mains
45 pilots
1 1/2 airscrew
N68A on middle clip

Had them on 4th but left pot developed machine gun stutter on part throttle and lowering the needles sorted it

Agree I have never been able to get mine to run right on the JJH so fitted the 68X needles on middle clip & it runs great. 8) pretty sure the 68 is leaner needle than the JJH the top section is the same but the 68 has a fatter taper making it leaner.
