hi
can someone please enlighten me on the differences between a 1 and a 1S as i need a S engine
as i have to purchase one and have no idea on the differences
can you tell by the numbers or any physical differences on the outside?
also carbs - how to identify them and are they shared on any other bikes?
thanks for your help in advance

Re: KR1 v KR1S engine
obvious noticeable physical differences are a screw cap gearbox filler on the 1 and the plastic thumb screw off cap on the 1-S.
The clutch inner casing is slightly different with an extra bolt on the 1-S. Harder to spot without taking the motor apart, but the barrels are different too. Numbers inside where the resonator chambers denote 1 from the 1-S.

Hi Mike, the best bit about the forum is that it is in everyones home town
(And they don't mind posting bits down under)
But you have to reciprocate and post plenty of photos....
Cheers,
Bernie
