Anyone know where I can get a new or good 2nd hand
Throttle cable from. The revs on mine keep hanging and when
I move the cable it either drops to tick over or revs uncontrolably.
I have checked all the routing and its fine and the slides arent sticking either.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Waza.

venhill will make you a cable http://www.venhill.co.uk/

You have an air leak. Either the carb rubbers are perished or the they aren't sealing properly. Get some gas leak fluid and see if it bubbles. Cheapskates will try and use washing up liquid.

Cheers mate, its got brand new rubbers on. When i move the throttle cable it makes a big difference. I have checked everything i could think of so hopefully the cable is the issue.

I'd still do an air leak test

Have you checked the cable adjusters on top of the carbs are set right

Best way is to slacken them off and remove the airbox

Also back out the idle screws on the sides of the side of the carbs

Then put a finger down each carb to touch the slides

Turn each adjuster until you just start to feel the slide go taught/start to lift

You want them set just slightly before they reach this stage

Then turn in each idle screw until you can feel it start to make contact/lift each slide

When you start the bike you will find you then need to turn in each idle screw an equal amount to get
a tickover and then just fine adjust

Off course you may have done all this but if not i would try the above before buying a new cable

cheers mate, i have set the idle screws and checked the cable adjustment it ticks over fine. Then you go up the road and back and the revs hang at about 2k. If you drop into 1st they will then go back to tick over. If you move the cable about the revs will either drop or rev really high hence i thought it might be a cable issue.
