KIPS Oil Seals Leaking

Post by KRdum »

Hi all,
A couple of my KIPS oil seals on my KR1S are leaking to the point that the oil is now lightly peppering the lower part of my fuel tank. In fact my KR1 is starting to do the same too !!
My question is "can I replace the seals by just removing the KIPS linkeages & then carefully prizing the old oil seals out & pushing the new ones in or is it a head off job to do the job properly?"

Yes I think if you are carefully skillful with the right tools you could pop the seals out in situ.

They can be done in situ but if you are unlucky the press in portion will stay stuck in the head.
