head gaskit

Post by slashing »

I have just run in my kris with new barrels an pistons, I used a genuine head gaskit but i think its blown the head gaskit because its presurising the header tank an chucking water out of the over flow pipe. Any one?

Did you put the head on there after you mounted the cylinders ore did you mount the head on the cylinders and than bolted it on the engine.
If you put on the cylinders first it is possible the headgasket starts leaking because there is a possibility the cylinders are not aligned.
So the best way is to put the head on the cylinders tighten it and than as a complete set mount it on the engine

Also is your head straight?

Did you check the tops of the barrels are level?

If they aren't you'll need to get them ground as a pair to get them the same.
