Hello,

A mate of mine called me to say that his kr1s was riding on 1 Cylinder.
Checked the bike a saw that the rhs cylinder had zero compression.
Got the cylinders of a saw that the ring peg of the top ring was gone and 2 pieces where broken of the top of the cylinder.
Now here is the question These are the new type original pistons how is this possible ,I know the older type original pistons had this problem but never heard of that the newer type had this aswel
Dus anybody have had the same problem with these original pistons.

Cheers jarno,

Just a thought , is it possible the ring peg hole has been drilled deep into or through the piston and the peg has been pushed in rather than come out? I've seen it before on an RD piston, but not a KR1S.

The ring peg is pushed in , the complete top ring is gone and the piston has parts broken in the front and back of the piston

I had a piston ring pin break on a genuine piston, recent updated type. The ring turned until it broke slightly and jammed in it's groove, luchily didn't cause a sieziure or much damage.

I just put it down to too many trackdays! about 8 or more with out changing them?!
