1mm skimmed head, squish clearance

Post by KR1 Man »

KR1 Man calling. I need some guidance please. I have a KR1-s head skimmed by 1mm with re worked combustion chambers. What would the squish clearance tolerances be if I combined this head with a pair of barrels of standard height? I have no experience of doing a squish clearence but have a friend with plenty who has kindly agreed to do it for me. I have a good selection of base gaskets of varying thicknesses, and plan to use a pair of mk2 mitaka pistons combined with a fully rebuilt crank from BDK. The cylinders have been professionally ported and I have re-worked the crankcases/inlets to the recent Stan Stephens article in Cmm. I plan to put this motor into my KR1, running std PWK28s' and Kr1-s pipes. Any advice please??? Best regards, KR1 Man.
