Would one work on a 2 stroke for testing, I am looking in to possibly buying one with a lambda sensor for setting up other bikes ( I have 8 now, non are standard). I hope every one is enjoying the long weekend.

Hi Fred. Not 100% sure the difference between wide and narrowband gauges but.. I go to Mick Abbey regularly to use his dyno (great bloke & service, can't recommend him enough). His setup uses a lambda probe (some sort of heated car lambda I think) to a sensor box which give an instant display, and also feeds that into the dyno software to get a graph readout. It doesn't seem to mind 2 stroke even on my race TZR running A747.

I have a wide band Koso sensor fitted to my KR.
Its a heated sensor and does load the battery quite heavily, so wouldn't be great on a total loss system.
Also with two strokes, they recommend fitting a probe shroud that masks the sensor from the oily residue you often get in two stroke exhausts

That's interesting Tricia, would the shroud just be curved round the leading side of the sensor. I have read on a 2 stroke to weld on the threaded boss in the last segment of the downpipe before the first cone.

According to Koso, it needs to be welded on I think about 20cm from the exhaust port.
The shroud looks like this and the 'hole' needs to be facing downstream;
