Hi Fred
What effect does an increase in the volume have?
Cheers

I've got them for the KMX200 - they are 6mm thick spacers.
They improve low down grunt without compromising the top end 8)
If it takes more than 2strokes then your just playing at it..

I havent measured them,at a guess there around 8mm deep, they helped at low revs (below 8000rpm) when pulling out of a hairpin or similar.
I also run a 13/41 gearing for somehwhere like mallory, saves having to use 1st which is too low on most gearing for track use.

Dave, did you make these spacers yourself, or are they a commercially available item? I'd certainly be interested in trying some of these for road use, assuming there are no adverse effects anywhere in the engine speed range below chamber closure.

Thanks & regards,
James

They were a set of spare standard chambers that i modded, not aware of any "already made versions" but im sure a decent local engineering firm could knock some up out of alloy.
no adverse effects form what ive experienced, once there closed off at the top end its the same as before.
Biggest difference for cheap outlay though is dropping a tooth on the front sprocket to a 14,allows the higher gears to be used and still good for over 125mph.

These are the KIPS resonator spacers for the KMX200
Produced by a number of companies including BDK

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-KMX2 ... 589d77fb86

Shouldn't be hard to make ones for the KR
Mine on the KMX are 6mm thick 8)
If it takes more than 2strokes then your just playing at it..

Thanks for the info Dave. I'll try making some spacers from gasket patterns! About 10-15 years ago, I had things like this made by a local firm which used a water cutter. However, I think they've now moved or gone out of business - I'll do some research.

James

Well i was a bit far off with the guess in size, there actually 14mm thick which is nearly half the width of the stock chamber again.
I dont think a 6mm spacer will have much impact, but i maybe wrong.
