Mikuni carbs on early KR1??

Post by James P »

Looking at the picture at the bottom left-hand corner of Page 2-7 of the KR1 workshop manual (kindly provided on this web-site!), I notice what appear to be Mikuni TM-series carburettors, presumably fitted to a KR1. This is confusing, as most other pictures of the carbs appear to show the Keihin PWKs.

Has anyone got a very early model KR1 fitted with Mikuni carbs as standard? As Kawasaki has used carbs from both makers, it is not unreasonable to assume that the first KR1s were thus equipped - does anyone know anything?

Thanks & regards,
James

Well noticed! Iv never seen that before!

Note also that there is a stub in the carb rubber for a boost bottle/pipe to plug into.

Thanks for sharing!
