Have been told I can fit ZXR750 discs (310mm) to my KR1s.

Can it be done?

Chris
it can, if you switch complete forks for ZXR400 or ZXR750 (right side up from first model).

I've gor 750's in mine? all you have to do is :

*make the stem the same diameter at the bottom as on top (like KR1's : the top one is already the same, the bottom one is bigger).

*cut off your KR-springs to the same lenght (at the soft part off the spring) as the 750's. allthough the 750 is 43mm, they'll go in

it's definitly an improvement : you can't brake harder, but you have to use less force.

This post has been deleted for two reasons.

1. A lame attempt stop myself from looking like a complete fool on the www.

and

2. I feel that a forum such as yours should contain none of my foolish dribble.

I hereby exile myself to a life of lurking your forum, my apologies to anyone offended .

I hate, no I strongly dislike anyone who get a postcount of less than 3 with continous dribble similar to the above

there are lots off differences between a KR1 and a KR-1S. one off them are the brake-calipers : an S has 4 pots, and the calipers are EXACTLY the same as those fitted on ZXR750's

as for the discs : once I bought by mistake 320's in stead off 310's to fit in my ZXR front-end, and it was very close, but couldn't fit them. but I recon it couldn't be more than 1mm, so maybe, just maybe .... the dude is telling the truth

great start to your time on the forum mangie.

until then i think you should keep your gob shut.

Theres a guy on the flea sells new ones...not sure if they are for a kr1 or kr1s (are they slightly different sizes ?)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kawasaki-KR1S-KR1 ... dZViewItem

Personally I would get a used set on the evilbay. Ive changed all the discs on mine inc back and its cost me about £60 and they will do me for years and have no lips etc.

wemoto.com have the ebc ones for £129 each.
