KR-1S Rally? Cadwell Park trackday weekend? Or both?!

Post by Darin »

Hi everyone,

Last year's classic bike trackday at Cadwell with Practical Sportsbikes mag was great (if a little wet early on!) but this year we decided to try n' go one better and make a whole weekend of it with PS and Classic Bike mags;

Saturday 3rd August: PS mag (bikes up to 1995 - as usual)
Sunday 4th August: Classic Bike Burn-Up (bikes up to 1990)

You'll get 7 x 20 minute sessions on both days, (Nov, 2T & 4T groups on Sat, 60, 70, 80s groups on Sun) - £139 each day or £258 for both. Or there's a 10% group discount for 5+ riders from KR-1S forum on either day. Booking can be done online or call us on 08451 25 26 46

When the track shuts on Saturday, Cadwell's clubhouse, bar & restuarant will be open for the evening, so everyone can relive how quick they were on track whilst having a few beers and listening to the band . . . yeah we're getting a band in too :)

No worries about driving or riding back as everyone can camp over and do it all again on Sunday.

KR-1S Rally?

The trackdays aren't compulsory - if you want an excuse for a weekend away with bikes, beer and banter, all the clubs/forums are welcome to come along, park up and chill for one or both days and the Saturday evening in the Clubhouse - or have a BBQ outside.

It's all FREE too :shock: :shock: or just £5per person if you camp on Saturday night (oh, and the beer! :lol: )

Sounds great!
Hoping to be able to do this,never been to cadders (too far for a day) but 2 days makes the journey worthwhile. :D
The only prob i can see as such is that unless you have a B1 or B2 you wont be able to do the 2nd day as its pre 90.
how strict will thisi be enforced i wonder as most cant tell a KR1 from an S,even more so when it has track bodywork/different wheels etc etc.
I would like to bring the RGV with the RG5 motor in,but the bike is 93 (engine 85),also i have a 93 RS125 which is nigh on identical to the 89 model except for small updates.
Darrin, whats your take on the classic bike burn up rules regarding this?
Dont really want to book and then find out when im there its a no go.
Cheers

Good stuff Dave, we thought most people would find a whole weekend worthwhile :)

I understand what you're saying about the 1990 cutoff for the Burn Up tho - but Ben (Classic Bike ed) is happy for bikes registered later than 1990 to attend as long as that particular model was built in 1990. Hope that answers your question :)

Cheers,

Darin

Cool :)

We've got space on both trackdays at the moment, but Saturday is going to fill sooner than Sunday. But for anyone wanting to rideout, spectate and camp there's LOADSA space (above the paddock) - we're hoping to see it full of old bikes, tents and BBQs!! :lol:

Yeah no point in rushing off when there's beer to drink, BBQ to eat and stories to tell . . . oh and the noise of the Burn-Up to wake you up on Sunday!! :mrgreen:

More news hot off the proverbial press . . . .

Ben ('Classic Bike' magazine Ed) has given the thumbs up to extend the cut-off date for Sunday's Burn-Up to 1995 - the same as the PS trackday on Saturday, so now all riders can do both days if they want 8)

BTW, there are only a few places left for the PS day on 3rd August, so please book NOW if you want to come.

Cheers,

......and also Classic Bike Parades....

For those of you who are coming just to chill out and enjoy watching the bikes, there's now the chance to get in a couple of laps if you fancy seeing what it's like on track, as we'll be running a parade on both days.

They're going to be FREE! too, but there are a few simple rules & regs in the name of safety;

1. All bikes are welcome (including mopeds capable of 40+ mph) upto a maximum of 60 bikes
2. The parade will start at 1pm and include 2 laps of the circuit at 40-50mph behind an instructor
3. Riders will need to wear full leathers, gloves and helmets
4. No pillions are allowed!
5. Riders will need to sign in on the day, so the timetable will be;

11:00 - Parade Registration (riders will receive a wristband to show they've signed an indemnity)
11:30 - Parade Briefing (to explain the basics; follow the instructor, no overtaking,etc)
12:45 - Assemble in the usual assembly area
13:00 - Instructor to lead parade for 2 laps and then return to the paddock

:)

There's still places on Sunday though - and they're discounted if you've done Mallory or the PS day.

We've got the High Rollers playing on Saturday night - and outside if the weather's ok so everyone in the paddock and camping will feel the party vibe! The bar and restaurant will be open til late, and we'll be firing up a late night BBQ for anyone with the munchies Camping on the Saturday night is just £5pp and everyone is welcome to come along . . . it's gonna be a great weekend, so hope a few of you can come along :)

Only a few weeks to go now to the start of the Cadwell Park weekend! \:D/

I've had a couple of calls asking when we'll be sending out the information, so I thought it was worth letting everyone know that Saturday's info pack will be with you very soon - probably early next week via email, unless you've asked for it to be posted.

Sunday's info pack will be sent out nearer the end of the month as we still have a handful of places left, so we're going to wait as we want to get the groups right. The info will be similar though!

And just a reminder . . . if you've booked Saturday and want to book Sunday, the price is just £119. If you booked Mallory back in April as well, it's just £99 :wink:

See you in August!

Hi,

I'm there both days. Taking my TZ and my KR1. Both are running right at the moment and I'm hoping for more sunshine.

Hopefully meet some of you guys there.
