Croft is the weekend before this trackday. Unfortuantly I can't race due to work, as I can't get more than a single day off during an outage at work. So I'm doing this trackday instead. Hopeing to race at the first meeting at cadwell.

This is a chance to shake the bike down a bit, blow of the winter cobwebs and have a bit of fun.

Don't forget a full license is one that is not restricted to 33bhp!
I booked my daughter her first trackday & after reading the small print at the bottom of the contract it states you must have a full license "not restricted" when i phoned them i told them that she was eighteen & had passed her IAM test, they still woulden't let her on the track! so she did a bemsee day & got her race license!
So it seem's to work like this" if you are under 21 have passed your test they will not let you on the track untill you have had it two years.
But if you have only ridden a bike to cbt standards & then go & get your race license they will let you on the track ](*,)

what are the rules re bikes? do you need a shark fin/chain guard thing? i was thinking about taking the yamagamma!! torque monster on ultra skinny tyres. fired it up today after a 10month stint of housing the spiders and insects but bugger all else. started first time!

You don't need a sharkfin for a track day as they are only needed for racing. Your bike needs to be road worthy, by that I mean it needs to be safe not road legal. There's no scruiterneering or anything like that. Just turn up and ride :)

They also check the noise in case you scare the birds or the rabbits at Cadwell as there are bugger all other locals near the track. Noise levels are ACU race level so your be fine on that point. Also you need ACU approved helmet and one piece leathers or a two piece that zips together.

what sort of lap times are the norm for the inter group? i know race pace and trackdays differ quite a lot (at least i think they do). looking forward to it!! will probably take the kr if i get the front end rebuilt in time as this is the bike i will race, although the yamagamma will be fun swallowing up the straights etc, the tyres/suspension make even a std kr look sophisticated!!

No lap timimg is allowed on a trackday but if ur doing sub 2 mins laps then you'll be fine. The trouble I find is that the big diesels leave you on the striaghts then get in the way in the corners. If your KR is a fast un then you can hold onto their tails on the straight and pass then going into the corners. It 'll really piss them of as well when they realise the've been passed by a little 250. :D
