dynoed the KR on Thurs, 40hp, buring gbox oil.
Swap to standard engine, got 48 hp day before meeting - that'll have to do!
Qualified 3rd row in the Two stroke Gp class, good start then folded my foot pegs back and entered paddock in 1st gear last position.
Saturday night, swapped to tuned barrels
Sunday morning, in practice, dumped it at Graham Hill 1st lap. Repaired the damage. Got it dynoed ....power up to 52hp - yay!
Got back onto the third row on sunday pm for 2 stroke GP class. Got a good start and then followed by the 400 race straight after only to seize halfway through the race at the bottom of paddock, and then (when loading the bike into the back of the van) got presented with a trophy for 6th overall 250 in the 2 stroke GP class for the weekend - Yay!
I am shattered, done only two meetings this year and glad that its the last race of the season. Think I might ask MJ to build a (clean) engine for me for next season.
.....back to normality.....

Hi Tricia
Nice to meet you on Saturday and put a face to a name, good news on the trophy =D> bad news with the engine,

At least its the end of the season so a bit of rest time.

Sounds a good idea to contact MJ.

A few photos.

Well done Tricia, good to see you having a better time out there this weekend. sorry I didn't stop by to say good bye, it was getting late on the Saturday after a lengthy chat in the lower paddock with the TSGP boys.

Do you know why you crashed and why the engine seized?

Saturdays 400 race was carried over to an extra race on sunday, hence everything was bunched up. In my first practice session, only got two laps and no chance to warm the engine up. Desperate (and impatient) to see if the new top end made a difference, I went out in the second session on cold tyres and cold track only to loose the front at Graham Hill. Damage was minor, and I was fine.
I have the dyno graphs kicking around somewhere which showed one cylinder running sightly more lean than the other, however both looked under 13:1 and the temp in the morning felt colder than it did in the afternoon when it seized. I haven't investigated yet as it feels as though my entire body has 'set', so it'll have to remain in the garage with its 'cone of shame' until I get round to looking at it.
Good to see 375 and Luders too and have a bit of a chat too

Here's a video of the start from your first F400 race.

Glad you'll be giving it another crack next year, I will be doing one of the Brands meets next year.

Tricia,

Glad to hear the engine had a bit more oomph this time!

Just looking at the pics of your bike, I doubt this will make any difference but I think your front brake discs are on the wrong way round. They want swapping from the left side of the wheel to the right side. Like I say I'm not sure it would make any noticeable difference but I just thought I would mention it. :)

I had the tyre changed on Saturday, I remember putting it back in by referring to the tyre and didn't check the disc - I'll look again

don't bother, it doesn't make any difference.

on one of my bikes, I have 2 "same sides" in and you can't tell when riding.

I still do wonder why they say that. There seems to be this misconception that they are more reliable.

I've seen more ZXR 400's blow up this year than 2 strokes.

Even Gary had issues Saturday with his, just to add fuel to my case :)
