Hello all,
I haven't been on here for a while, things are looking as good as ever. so its coming to the end of the summer and I must start my KR1S restoration project.. but i'm still riding it as the sun is out.

In the meantime I was looking into vapour blasting for the various engine casings and decided to have a go at building one for myself.
I started looking at a few pictures and got the basics and went to work on converting 2 old clip top oil drums, a plastic barrel, and a foul water pump into a functioning vapour blaster. here are some pictures of the unit.

The way it works is,
In the blue barrel there are very fine glass beads (media), and water, there is a foul water pump in the tank that is suspended above the media level when settled (the glass sinks when it's switched off). when the pump is on, the outlet is split, one half goes back into the bottom of the barrel to agitate the water and media, the other half is fed into the gun in the chamber. so you get a slurry of glass beads and water being forced through the gun. Then air is fed into the flow of media, accelerating it out of the nozzle and onto the work piece.
