I did buy off fleabay via a seller so I have the long winded bit of sending it back for a refund but I will now buy direct from them.
Still a bit crap how they let it slip through the quality control though

Trumpet ain't running well ,think I have an air leak so getting some new carb rubbers and manifold 0 rings just to eliminate that
Then if it's the same I will have to do a dyno run just to see what the fueling is doing

just spray brakecleaner on the rubbers. if the revs change they leak, if not it's a waste of money to buy new ones.
just make sure you don't spray into your filters

I guess you are right but the rubbers are now 13 years old and although it is a 2002 bike it has 2001 stickers on various bits of the bike
New carb rubbers have come and with the verniers one side has a 2mm larger inside diameter than the other side
So I think the rubbers have been fitted the wrong way round
There are no direction arrows on the rubbers and always presumed either way round would do and even asked the dealer to check with the workshop if it mattered
Ain't fitted them yet so might not be my problem

Just got the ignition back fro TTP who have given it a better ignition map and increased the rev limiter from 7400rpm to 8500
Not re fitted it yet so can't comment
Got a larger front sprocket too, so have gone from a 17 tooth to an 18 which all the later retro's are running at
Might crack the Ton yet
Still got to get it down the dyno

Fitted the modded ignition box took it out for a quick spin and the butt dyno says no difference
Just put bigger front sprocket on (17 tooth to 18) that will probably make more of a difference to riding

Clutch was slipping and the forums say the springs aren't up to the job if you fit stuff to improve the performance
So going from standard 50 ish horsepower to 60 ish is all it takes to overwhelm the standard clutch
Fitted some EBC springs last night which are only supposed to be 10 to 15% stronger but I think that has made the clutch action super heavy
Haven't been out on it yet but got a feeling just fitting half the new springs will do the job like we do in the LCs
Still got to get it on the dyno.......

Well the clutch springs seem to be doing the job and after jetting up a bit and shimming the needles ,it has a nice midrange punch to it now
Top end still seems weird but may be to the fact it's a parallel twin
Still got to dyno LOL

Been to you know where today
They do 54bhp standard so was o.k. with the result at 61bhp but for a nearly 800cc engine it is pretty paltry
Torque isn't much better
but feels better on the road than it suggests and apart from as mentioned a bit strangled at the top I really enjoy it
Super rich at the bottom and weakens out a bit in the middle but main jet seems o.k. at #135 which was 2 sizes up on what they recommended
Needles already have 2 shims under them and when I got back I turned the fuel screws in from 3 1/4 turns to 2 1/2 but didn't want to idle evenly
So not sure what to do there and last run I told him to take it to the rev limiter to see if the modded ignition box said what they had programmed
As I have no tacho I was 90% sure it was hitting a wall before the limiter but the dyno showed otherwise
Still revving it's nuts up the top so going to go another tooth up on the front sprocket
Plus as it's making roughly the same power as an LC then the other option is to make the bike lighter
Already dumped the heavy mudguards and exhaust system and changed the heavy steel chromed front wheel to the alloy Thruxton ,removed centre stand, the air injection system
Can't really do much more maybe get the Thruxton alloy rear wheel, change the metal side panels and chain guard for plastic ones

You could give me £25, that would make you lighter
Save your money and buy a fast bike.

Drilled the carb slides today
If it ain't broke ,still feck about, that's my motto
It is supposed to be a proven mod though enlarging the hole from 2.5mm to 3.00mm

Got caught out in the rain today
Having no front mudguard ain't very clever
plus found out it isn't an MOT failure but it is a legal requirement
Balanced the carbs which according to the gauges were quite a bit out but engine felt a bit more vibey so may borrow another set to double check

Have now fitted the front mudguard which was easier said than done
