Went to the dyno in December and at first things went very well but in the final stages of set up while doing an all gear run making 82 bhp the right hand cylinder seized . So had to get my engine fixed and got back to the dyno on Friday 4/3/16 . Took the set up much more cautiously and advanced the ignition in sections in very small amount's . My aim was to reach mid 70's bhp to avoid self destruction . The day ended very well making 78.96 bhp through the all gear run and 35.5 ft/lbs torque . The engine seems to have plenty of low down drive . Now just need the weather to pick up to do some miles and fine adjustments . Here's the dyno graphs .

would love to see that against some of the Bemsee 400's (it would really piss them off - they really hate strokers)

Impressive - on the track the extra 1000 rpm over a normal KR would allow you to gear down 10% giving more acceleration.

I have a set of 3YL cylinders and heads and a spare KR1 bottom end....this is very tempting!
How much did the mods to the cylinders and tuning cost?

Hi Scooble what stroke are the cylinders . Are the cylinders set up for race fuel or pump fuel ? You will need the compression set for the fuel you are using . TZ cylinder porting is good to give plenty of power . You need some one with a CNC machine to make you up the spacer as the TZ cylinders are shorter . The cylinders will need the stud holes welding up and some extra weld added and then re drilled to suit the KR1S stud positions . The base of the cylinders will need skimming to get them true after welding making sure both cylinders are matched . Once your engine is done some exhausts will need to be made to fit , cost me about £600 . The other costs are welding on cylinders and CNC time and materials are what they charge . The bottom end will need at least the clutch upgrading with KR1R clutch springs still available from Kawasaki or were when I purchased mine . All the measuring up can be done on the CNC machine starting off with the cylinders plotting from centre of bore to stud positions . Hope this helps you get your head around it . More simple than it sounds really . CNC machine is essential for the accuracy .

Still available from kawasaki UK
