250 prices in NZ
sorry Jan...
the referee's decision came back...
http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?la ... 2=Wakasaki
over here... theres HEAPS of RS250 imports on the market
none seem to be selling...(pounds)...
RS250 between 2700 and 3800
NSR MC28 (SP) upto 3800
older NSR about 1700
TZR (3xv) around 1900
KR-1x (when you can find one!!) 650 to 1500
not much into Suzuks... but the BARGAINS are
VJ23 (SP) at 2500... Ram air and that SWINGARM yum
http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?la ... rd2=rgv250
...love all the last of the breed...but NSR cost about 400pounds to derestrict PGM via HRC card etc
...theres heaps of parts available for the RGV and RS so thats the logical buy
You get so much for the money with a KR - so easy to make them sing too.
We MIGHT all agree on the Google fight out results....
KR-1 27500000 results (KR250 119000 results)
RS250 46100 results
RGV250 36800 results
NSR250 34000 results
TZR250 33000 results
=D> ...so RS250 is a good second choice

in NZ - wouldnt think the RS250 were second hand ex Japan - the prices and yen has been too expensive for a few years and theres fewer for sale in Japan than other makes so doesnt explain the two to one number we have in NZ... (we have cheaper shipping between Japan and NZ than the shorter distance Australia and NZ)
...so that leaves cheap imports from europe - the Italian marques have been popular here for a while now - the Grey Beards and Return to Biking brigades
take your pick from years and colours...
at least you wont have to worry about the service costs like a Ducati =D>
when I was younger people always remarked how light a KR was - didnt feel light to me at the time - but now they seem like a feather.

The Apprilla RSV250 is the "over the counter" Race 250. A friend of mine has one, and he had to collect it in person from the factory. There were not many made or sold outside of MotoGP and they are 100% different from the Apprilla RS250 which is a road bike after all and about twice the physical size.Charles wrote:the engine has got nothing in common with the GP-Bikewakasaki wrote: .and what is more its straight out of the Gp paddock..

Hi Gary,
I just expressed my view on its looks, nothing more, it was nothing personal . You're happy with the bike, that's all that matters. I've never ridden an RS, its handling must be way better than the KR. But no, I won't sell my KR, as I like it old looks and as I will never be able to afford an RS like you have or any other modern bike. My KR only cost 800Euros, I am in the lowest budget league.
Enjoy your bike!
Charles

think of the rs as a posh rgv. think there the best pound for pound bike for racing/track in terms of handling/power/physical size for bigger lads ect without the need for the specialist stuff like nsr/vj23 ect. a fave for many racers but many things get replaced for new suzuki stuff. although its identical i ''think'' some of the parts are made in house or from suzuki's parts bin. obviously not the cyc;le parts but the crank ect. i could be wrong mind, just something i recall talking about with a former rs250 racer. not really in the same league as an rgv(vj23) or 3xv tzr or mc21/28 nsrt for that matter but to the general population of stroker fans perhaps one of the best bikes to use on track. nothing like a vj23 in terms of trickness/race bred chassis let alone a gp bike ie tz or rs but nontheless a cracking bike and personally lovely looking. like the mk1 in chesterfield(black) best or reggiani colours. the frame/swingarm is one of the prettiest, certainly at the time. the bike was a revelation to young teens like myself and still talked about now. the nearest any 250 is to a gp bike that has lights is the vj23 so they say. handling is beyond beleif as is the motors grunt when sorted but then again, so is the price!! nice bike kwakman.
