Z1000r Eddie lawson rep
Just picked up an 83 Z1000r lawson rep in euro colours Cleared a space for it in the garage with the sale of my vfr.
The plan is too restore her to her former glory keeping her as near to standard as we can.I'm going to see if I can get her running this weekend, carbs off cleaned and some fresh fuel. Then she'll have to be stored a wee while untill the KR1s is finished.
where will it end

Thanks Olboy,MJ.Still hav'nt done much with the Lawson, other than aquiring a few of the parts that I know we'll need. All three brake calipers are knackered,so I've got them,I've managed to get a pair of rear indicators but there not as good as I'd like, found a good pair of mirrors
The front mudguard is rotten right through so I need one of those and a chain guard.
There will be a million other things too.The trouble is it all has to come out of the KR1S budget,so that slows things down a wee bit on the KR1S front but when things come up that are becoming quite rare you have to get them.
We managed to start it too took the carbs off and gave them a quick clean, mains and pilots were a bit cruddy with old fuel.Connected the wee aux fuel tank and the starting charger and away she went She sounds great but with 54,000mls on the clock an engine rebuild is in order.
Forgot to mention I am the 13th keeper and I bought it on a Friday.Still its a Lawson

Take the tank off, pop it under your arm and take it along to the Stafford Classic Japanese Show in October (not the one this coming weekend). Eddie is the guest of honour and will be happy to double the value of your bike by scrawling his name across the tank in permanent felt tip.
Worked for me with Mr.Schwantz anyway.

I think there'll be a few of you. Last October it was Freddie Spencer and everyone in the queue had a lump of NS400R under their arm.pablo wrote:SB I think I will, not that I'll ever sell it,the kids will though. But It'd be well worth the effort.
I'd be easy to spot though would'nt I unless everyone with a lawson turns up
