this evening i changed the mig welder to my small teflon liner torch i use for ally and a small 1kg reel of what i thought was steel wire (for better tacking up) ,turns out it`s sif bronze and it works a treat so ime going to mig braze it
getting a idea of shape
fronts done
glad i put a mock up chain on,i hear some pipes foul the run
well chuffed ,its ace working on this bike ,like being able to lift the front on to a stool to get some more room
already rang about them carbs ,ok for drag think he was told they need regular balancing ,hese talking with a uk firm when its all done n tested may get supercharged ,few years away me thinks
brazed up this afternoon ,need some quotes for black chrome or paint and exhaust wrap do you think it would be ok to take 4" of of those silencers ,i recon it would look better
Fantastic job on those pipes they look great, 4inch off the cans i think maybe a little too short, mock some cans up out of a loo roll tube and hold it up until you get the look you want.
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice.
It will be interesting to see and hear how the exhausts perform, they certainly look the part.Maybe in the future make some more for forum members to buy?
cheerrs guys im`e on the ale like a viking ,ayy best thing about this is 8 hours is all it takes ,so realy alterations won`t be hard ,will they ,and not one answer about exhaust wrap 4" off i recon ,bcoz they are heavy as,
Flippin fantastic job there Fred. =D> =D> =D>
I'd personally go for the black paint option (and exhaust wrap if that's your thing), but it all comes down to what YOU prefer. I think taking 4"out of the cans might be a bit much (2" would be about as much as I'd trim them if at all), or you could just find some nice looking aftermarket cans or ones from an aprillia or other such bike.
