Thats how i did my first spray job, standard paint from a shop can, and then 2K over the top, looks ok, and the cans spray much better than your standard shop bought aerosols.
Probably try the next one fully with 2k.

It has been quit stormy here for the last few days,
So I have prepped the wheels, and then cleaned up the casting flash.


I didn't take a photo of the rear wheel but it was fairly bad - the trimmer at the wheel factory must have had the day off

The front was ok, but I cleaned it up anyway.


I bought some acid etch for the frame and wheels and was a happy chappy - until I read about using 2k base over 1k primers.
I goggled this and ended up even more confused with conflicting opinions. So I emailed u-pol tech help, The next morning came a reply that it was the recommended primer for aluminium - galvanized etc under 2k base coat. So no problem there.

Not much progress with Pandora over the last week.

I have been enlarging and raising the fireplace to fit a stove with back boiler -dust and rubble everywhere.

So another week or so and we should be back on track.

I did buy the one I love a gold chain though



14 tooth front sprocket to liven things up

I just ordered a chain for mine with a 14/41. Mine was on 14/43, the chain looked ok but the sprockets were goosed. Why put a new chain on old sprockets I don't know!
I went here for my C&S kit, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... OC:GB:3160 they said they could put a 14t sprocket in for the same price

Well the DIY is nearly finished, so I could do a little more with Pandora.

A little bit of functional bling, I went with the 3 line fronts, as I like the tidy way they are routed.
Stainless fittings, so should keep looking good.



Had a look at the two radiators I have, Neither were great. The one that came with the bike had a nice looking fins and core, but inside was full of manky brown stuff and the filler neck had been squashed at some point. It also had a layer of sealer on it.



So I had a look at the one that came with the original spares, There were a good few bent fins and the expansion hose connector was broken. On the plus side, the inside was perfect so I decided to go with this one. Managed to repair the connector. It's ok - it's watertight, but the aluiweld stuff did not wick up into the join like brazing would have. I might redo this

Got a lot of the fins straightened and spent a while cleaning out the middle of the rad, where all the crap gets sprayed up off the front wheel.



Thats it for now, Fairly cold out in the shed --- Hot Jameson to the rescue

(I need to sort mine out, it sounds like yours with the middle full of road crap )

It's a good usable rad, but not too pretty. I put it in the sink and went at it with the wife's toothbrush and a nail brush.

It good enough, It may be possible to get it completely clear, but good enough was good enough fro me

at least you didn't use her oven to put Ducati crankcases in to get the bearings out
even when they'e been through the parts washer the buggers don't half smoke the house out. Motul syn, seems to linger

Not on a Ducati though. It's great how the bearings just drop out

The last time I was caught red handed, heating a cast wheel on the gas hob - She said nothing, so I think she knows how much of a goon I am by now

She has a flash induction hob, and would cut my nuts off if she caught me with bike bits on it

I used our dishwasher once to clean some parts,wife couldn't understand how i could do my bike bits yet not bother to load/unload plates and dishes!!

The last time I stuck my bits in the dishwasher, she fell pregnant
