35mm carb settings wanted

Post by russell »

Is there a ball park figure on settings of 35mm Keihin pwk no 70ra3 al7 carbs? Running airbox with intake from under fork yolk, crankcases stuffed, .7mm squish,
Just want to keep it rich and I am concerned the pilot jets may be lean.
It has 138 mains, and 48 pilots ????
Also how do you set float height?
Thanks

I used a DEL needle, main jets 152 to 158 depending on weather.
Rest as a standard KR-1R carb. 145 mains much to weak, standard needle didn't pickup well out of corners. Spent ages at Mallory trying different needles to get the bike to pick up and pull cleanly out of Edwina's. Mike Wilson bought the carbs, I don't know who has them now.

In that case you can give Russell the settings as I can't remember the exact setup....

Of course I will, but unfortunately it may take me a little while as the carbs and me are in different places .. Ronnie, I will come back to you as soon as I can ok, I certainly cannot trust the wifey to strip the carbs and tell you.. then again she's seen me doing it enough times...

I'm running 35's on mine with a standard airbox and i'm on:

Main 152
Pilot 42 (or 45 i think)
No6 slides
DEL needle

But i think the needle is too rich on my bike as i'm running the standard airbox. I reckon i can come down further on the mains as it didn't seize at cadwell lol :-).

Not much help i'm afraid :-(
