The legacy of Waki

Post by nate »

Hi all,

I hope this is ok with everyone... I dont intend this as a snipe at Waki or as a place for people to post... I think everything has been said....

However I, as I'm sure all of you agree, think that Waki's bike was very nice and a really good example of what can be achieved...

So, because I am a devious old sod, and expected what happened to happen, I proudly present...

nice clean example of a modded KR, however, it would be interesting to see how the fresh air scoop to the airbox works....is it fully pressurised?

yeah good job, good pics of a good example. must get some of those 35mm carbs someday, interesting airbox with shortened inlet rubbers.

Thats really nice. The one thing I and MJ found was that if you pressurise the airbox you also need to feed the carb overflows into the box so they run at the same internal pressure as the box.

on a full pressurised system its crucial to plug the breathers from the carbs into the box and also the breather from the fuel tank. as elf said they need to run at the same pressure. what happens is when you roll off to hook up a gear the engine runs lean and boom.

Very nice I just don't see the point unless its going to get used ???? The kr is better riden than used as an ornament I know mine sat for 3 years before I got it sorted.

p.s has he gone for good this time ? I think he was more annoying than the little prick from the old site I forget his name now but was always posting in text speak and was going to have a fight with splagnad ! The rose from the concrete or something along those lines Image

I personally prefer carbon with a re-inforcing strap around the rivets. The holes eventually wear due to vibration otherwise.

Still, if you don't ride it then that doesn't matter
