My Project...

Post by Glock 19 »

Hi Folks, thort I'd show you the two bikes i picked up the weekend, paid for one and got another half bike as well ! The white green/ bike is the one i'm restoring, it's mostly all there (KR1250B 1989) the engines a good'un it's only done 6000 miles ! only problem is the frames cracked and it's been a bit robbed of parts. Second bike has zxr400 front end and it's complete with an engine. I've just started stripping down the bikes for a complete rebiuld. I'm going for as near as original as possible, this is my first time at restoring a motorcycle as i used to own a westfield kit car and re-biult that over a few years, but i'm looking forward to trying something different and a bit less expensive !

Hi Glock 19,

Welcome to the forum - nice to see someone local with a KR, as apart from my 1S i have'nt seen one in Dorset for about 10 years!

Hope the rebuild goes well for you.... [-o<

Cheers, Kris.

id try and source a set of KR1-S pipes as these will look better and also liberate some more power.

could always go for a Jim Lomas system which looks stunning and is an improvement over the (hard to beat) standard system.

I went twice last year :D

The second time I was fairly distinctive as I was accompanied by clouds of smoke as the crank seal failed #-o

See you this year, I'll pm you if I am heading down so we can meet up.

i went quite often last year.

XJ900 & a GSX1100 with a Harri pipe was bit different to the usual fair.

looses its appeal too much modern stuff that all looks the same and no strokers.
