My New KR1s Project

Post by toby69 »

Well I'm back!

After selling my last one and basically regretting it ever since I have now picked up a new project. It's been a track/race bike but I hope to put it back on the road. It will be quite a challenge this 1 for only my second attempt at a full nut and bolt strip and rebuild!!
Needs quite a few bits if anyone has any spares laying around???. Mainly electrics as it has a full custom race loom at the moment. I have what looks like a complete loom that came with it but that's about it!

Anyway here it is! will probably be a while before I can get stuck into this one as we have recently moved house and not got the garage/shed space to work on it yet! but hopefully buy summertime I should be able to get started on it

Looks like it has an RGV 17" rear wheel. Front end ZXR400?

"Indeed it is", said Alice, looking at the mouse's tail.

Yeah I might just stretch to a set of Jim Lomas pipes although not sure which of their end cans to go for!! Fancied them for my last one but couldn't justify the cost
Plan to give the ones that are on a bit of a make over and get them looking a wee bit better

The issue I see is fitting a lower fairing with those Zorst , keep an eye out for std exhausts, then get some cans.

I have some carbon end cans , but I think you need to sort out the front end of the pipes first 👍

Steve, there seems to be a lower fairing at the extreme left of the pic, just behind the rear wheel. Presumably the exhausts fit inside this fairing.

Schoolboy error on my behalf I didnt see the belly pan. The front pipes look different to mine, but it’s probably the angle of the camera.

Yeah there is a bottom fairing too although I've not tried it on, but I presume it will fit over the pipes

They are Huxley pipes and supposed to be rather good. They do need a good bit of TLC though and I'm not sure I like them being so short/low slung although they might look OK with the whole fairing on. I might just give them a bit of TLC and sell them, not decide yet as I would love a set of Jim lomas pipes
