Cheers for the info on fuel taps guys!

Got some more done on the bike last night:

Fitted new rear goodridge brakeline

Made a template for some rear exhaust hangers that i am going to make today

Mounted the rear shock reservoir to the subframe (out of view)

Swapped a few bolts for stainless here and there

Fitted the chain and chain guard tensioned ready to go

Then it bloody rained so couldn't take it for a spin!

Got the seat unit on :D

Now the can straps that came with the JL cans, i feel they should have a rubber strap with them to protect the kevlar but there isn't any.

The straps are a tight fit on the cans so it seems there isn't room for any rubber, i have cut sum strips on 1mm thick rubber anyway so i will see what i can do when i have made the hangers.

Here are some pics:

Wahoooo!

Bike passed its mot this morning!

Took it to bikecare in bristol, really good blokes been there a few times for tests now!

Mains aren't far off, need to do a plug chop as soon as i get it taxed.

Bottom end is still a bit fluffy, i've gone down to 40 pilots but need to fiddle with the air screw some more.

Pipes sound incredible combined with the 35's induction roar!

Sorry for crap mobile pics!

Shakedown run unearthed a few things!

Water pump seals leaking, now have mayonaise mixed in with gearbox oil, been to fowlers this aft to get mechanical seal which they had on the shelf!

Lomas pipes are oozing black gunk from the header slip joints, O-rings are rubbish, anyone know where i can get some decent viton high temp o-rings?

One of my powervalve seals is leaking too! Does anyone know the size of the seal? I've searched but can't find it :(

Very nearly sorted though!

Hi, found this thread when I was looking for the seal sizes, I managed to get a set of genuine ones off fleabay soon after.

viewtopic.php?t=3202&highlight=kips+seals

nice looking hangers, how did you do the radius bends?

Just found these as well now, thought they might be double lipped, like most bike stuff, bit more expensive, but not a ripp-off

SP,

Thanks for the reply, i've sent a pm to kwackman12 on here to see if he can still get the seals that he used to be able get (through reading zombie threads on here)

Those ones on ebay from bdk sound good its just the postage thats putting me off lol thanks for the link! I may go for them after all.

The hangers i made from 3mm aluminium sheet, i used a sheet metal bender at university to bend them properly, a hacksaw and lots of filing to get them as you see there, i can make a drawing for them and post it on here if anyone wants to make their own?

Ben

Cheers mate that would be great!

Yes didn't see that at first, I bought a centre crank pin off them that was collection only, emailed them and they posted it for £4, it's probably a mistake, send them a message and see if it's correct.

I'd be interested in another set if kwakman can still get them?

very nice looking bike that mate. the 35mm carbs make a nice racket dont they? for the exhaust flange i use high temp seal, red stuff. its awkward to get a neat finish as its messy stuff but worksd effectively.

Right got some more done!

Changed the water pump seals.

Re-sealed my exhausts temporarily.

However found a tiny bit of missed weld in the left lomas pipe at the header, which is where most of the black gunk was coming from :( will have to get it welded, its about 3mm long and is simply a missed weld not a crack :)

Got it taxed today so its all legal now! Took it for a quick spin earlier.

My god it goes well, and like everyone has said it sounds alot like a TZ race bike on full chat! The induction roar from the 35's is something else you are right mgtkr1!

Really love this bike now!

Lower hose from the rad has sprung a leak :( will order some silicone replacements) not sure if water pump cover is leaking too, will take it off and re-seal it.

More money ](*,) but will be very happy when its done!

Some better pics:

Been down a local country lane today to do a plug chop or 2!

155 mains look ok to me so will stick with these for now, bottom end is rough still, will order no. 6 slides for the carbs then start fiddling some more!

Bike pulls hard from around 8k till about 11250 on the taco then stops dead, is this normal or would that suggest that i am still a bit rich?

Anyway heres a vid, clutch is slipping terribly so will sort that but you get the idea of the sound:

Quick update.

I rode the bike 210 miles home from bristol to near as dammit hull on friday afternoon.

Went entirely on the motorway without problems, well apart from it felt like i had been through a mangle and my wallet was severly dented due to fuel consumption lol.

Bike performed well apart from spewing black gunge out the exhausts everywhere, but will sort this.

Got lots of thumbs up from other bikers and a few car drivers too.

Been a long time since iv done anything on the bike!

I took it to the two stroke meet at sherburn 2 weeks ago which was good!

I tried fitting my bellypan but it will not fit over tge lomas pipes at all! The front mounting holes line up but the rear is an inch or more to low, the bellypan is hindered by the belly section of the exhausts, gutted really!

I can only think that my front fairing bracket is bent?

Plus the side fairing brackets are one-offs made by someone and might not be the correct size?

Anyone else had any problems with lomas pipes and bellypan mounting issues?
