Great thread, especially the painting bits

If you haven't got one here’s the mini DA I use. Really handy, came in a kit with 2” and 3” [50 and 75mm] pads and sanding discs. But fit a sponge pad and it’s ideal for polishing or cutting too. Use a reasonable amount of air, my compressor will keep up but runs pretty much all the time. Similar item http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-75mm-Air-Mi ... 4d0dfda26d

I have to say this is one of the best value tools I've bought in a long time. I use with course pads for sanding welds, 2000 discs and polishing sponge just for applying polish

Hellooo. Right the tyre sizes as per Bridgestone recommend. REAR - 140x60R18 M/C 64H BATTLEAXE BT 92. FRONT - 110X70XR17 M/C 54H BATTLEAXE BT090. Just some heat shield to put on belle pan then good to go.

The 150/60 BT090 fits ok on the rear of a stock S. Much stickier than a 92

Hi all went out on the beast tonight, adjusted the carb needles, slowed the air down on the hot side, run a lot sweeter, pushed her up to 110 no worries 2 gears to go as well, bit more fettling and a plug chop to see where I'M at. Also the engine sounded a lot less rattle, nicely tweaked, happier KR1 and owner

remember : plug chop doesn't tell you much. you can only use it for a certain condition and you need to perform it immediatly.

for example : you want to know if the mains are good, ride with the throttle wide open long enough (20-30sec?), hit the kill switch, stop the bike and check the plugs.
same for needles, but with throttle +/- halp open.

just making a tour of miles and miles and then checking the plugs won't tell you everything is fine, it will only tell you it's last condition before stopping the engine.
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !

HI Jan, I know all bearing and that are fine, sounds just like a 2 stroke now, but will do a plug chop got a nice road near here dead straight see for a distance, pretty quiet road to, so I'll get up there Sunday. Just off fishing for a coupe of days, thanks for the tips I'll bring up to speed as and when done. I just don't want to blow it to bits #-o . Cheers
