That really looks the biz,

Wouldn't look out of place in a 'new bike' showroom.

With a bit of luck, a bigwig from Kawasaki may stumble across this & start giving us the sort of bikes we want again [-o<

Got the engine built and started on the heat cycles. Mounted the clocks and have painted the inside of the fairing black. There are lots of other little bits n pieces I've done since last weekend, but probably not worth a mention.
Next job is to change the water in the cooling system and work on setting up the new ignition, as it has the stock CDI installed at the moment. I'm still working on the air box as well at the moment and I know there are no pictures of that, but I'll post some when it's finished.
Going to run it as it is this Wednesday at Mallory to get the engine ran in and get a feel for the bike again. It's now been 6 months since my crash at Anglesey, so I'm feeling fairly rusty.

Curious,
On a race bike do you run with coolant or do you just use water

That's a good question 375
I know water is a very efficient coolant on it's own when under pressure - it doesn't need to be mixed with coolant/anti freeze to have an increased boiling point. But water alone may increase wear and corrosion of alloy etc in high temp areas..

I'm interested too - maybe I best look this one up 8-[
If it takes more than 2strokes then your just playing at it..

But on a race bike do they not bother with coolant because they always drain it after a race weekend?

At a guess i would say race bikes run straight water incase of a spillage on the track, anti-freeze is slippery and you don't want it on a race track.

Ben im interested to see how you get on with the ignitech, i may be able to help with set up

Dan is correct, regulations stipulate that only water can be used in the cooling system, incase of spillage. No water wetters or other additives can be used, as they are slippy.

Thanks for the offer on the ignition, I'll get it hooked up tomorrow night and drop you a PM.
