NSW Historic Championships - Oran Park GP 9th 10th Sept

Post by mboddy »

HRR and PCRA are running the NSW Historic Road race Championships at Oran Park GP circuit on 9th and 10th September.
There will also be support races for New Era and the BRA will be holding the Bucket nationals and there will be modern sidecars.
There will be a huge variety of machines from the 1950s through to the 1990s.
Come see GP bikes of all types such as TR3, TZ and RS as well as road bikes RD400 RDLC, TZR and TDR, etc, etc.
Bring your camera too because you don't see this sort of variety of racing machines at other race meetings.

This year PCRA has had a Kawasaki KR250 racing in New Era 1 250.
KR-1 and KR1-S are also eligible for New Era 1 250 but we haven't had any enter yet.
Other New Era 1 250 bikes racing in 2006 are:
Yamaha RZ250, TZR250, TDR250 and FZR250.
Suzuki RGV250 VJ21.
h***a NSR250 and CBR250.

This is good cheap fun racing. Get that KR-1S along to our races and show us what you can do.

Next meeting after Oran Park is the PCRA One Hour meeting at Wakefield Park near Goulburn on 4th and 5th November.

The first meeting of 2007 is the Barry Sheene Memorial at Eastern Creek in February. Too much fun on a KR-1S.

This is the best shot Gina has of David on the KR250 from the last meeting:

And a picture of the bike at what I think was it's first race meeting; the 2005 PCRA One Hour:

It sure is. It is very loud with its unsilenced megaphones too.

We have all sorts of weird bikes racing with us.
I race a Yamaha TDR250 in New Era 1. It has 32mm flatslide Lectrons and 125 GP bike slicks.

Fantastic, more please ! :D Please ask David to contact me via my KR250 website - I've been trying to find someone still racing a tandem-twin in the 21st century. 8)

I have spoken to David and he will contact you soon.
He is currently working on another KR250 race bike which will have extra modifications.
