Ok, so after 8 years in boxs I’m starting to figure out what gos where and what I’m missing. A lot of what I’m after will be NLA but I’m hoping you guys can put me onto other options. Thanks to Martin I have a nice new swingarm chain buffer on the way and no doubt there will be a temp gauge rubber with my name on it at some point, thanks Martin.

New bits needed:

Water pump seal kit
Front disc bolts
Fork seals and dust seals
Kips linkages
Front discs - could possibly get mine resurfaced

Does anyone have a left side fork lower or complete fork for sale, mine has rash.

Can anyone tell me what the top and bottom triple clamp coating is? Is it polished alloy with a clear coat or anodised?

Being a kr1-sp my bike has grey calipers and not gold, I guess they are the same as the Zeus blue ones, anyone know
what colour this is or what car colour has been used to match?

For my zeus blue, I'm using PEUGEOT COSSACK GREY.

Lol, was just about to pm you after reading through your restore post Ian, but you beat me to it. Any special requirement for the paint itself when it comes to heat you think? Will 2 pack handle it?

WOW!!!

Number 1, of the rarest of all the KRs.

Can't wait to see what she looks like when she is finished.

The SP thing is cool as it’s an offical variant as recognised by Kawasaki, however it’s just a KR-1s with a few bolt on KR-1R parts and fettled cylinders. So a lot less desirable than he R in my opinion. A nice slice ok kiwi Kawasaki history to have though.

Hi Steve,
I have got to disagree with you.
I think the SP although it is a variant of the C3 (a), it is every bit as special as an R, and given the very limited number produced. I would consider it more collectable.
I am amazed that you actually have the first bike that was produced in the model range.
Keep the photos coming and if you get bored with it, there is space in my garage for one more (even though it is not red) 8)
Cheers
